🧠 screenpipe: the missing context layer for AI
as foundational ai models become commoditized, context is taking center stage. every ai agent, app, and model is only as good as the context it receives. that's where screenpipe comes in.
screenpipe runs locally on your computer and captures all screen, system, and audio activity, structuring it into a local database that ai accesses via function calling. this is a critical infrastructure layer powering the entire ai stack. because it's local and open-source, you can trust it. once data is captured, it can be selectively passed to a local or cloud-based ai.

🥳 things we shipped at screenpipe
- we launched a major upgrade to screenpipe's pipe system, which allows you to receive updates, publish your own pipe, monetize, and receive money automatically, check out the docs
- thanks to shaik-zeeshan for this major upgrade of the rewind app
- soon we will add full-text search and perplexity-like AI search!
- we added a feature that allows you to always capture all monitors, without having to worry when it's plugged in, unplugged, etc. (efficiently)
- we've added a
/vision/startand stop endpoint to start and stop recording monitors with code (alike the audio endpoints) - fixed an issue on some versions of windows that was crashing screenpipe
- thanks @neo773 who added a button to share logs quickly with us to debug faster
- thanks @hunnywar for adding shell completions to screenpipe CLI
- thanks to @kumarvivek1752 who fixed deeplink authentication on linux
- we fixed an issue where pipes would not stop properly when the app is in closed (eg bun, node)
